ONTARIO, CANADA -- Our minds are supposed to be at peace when drinking bottled water, right? Well, not anymore. That's because Niagara Bottling has now issued a voluntary water recall because of E. coli contamination.

The Canadian company says the contamination was discovered in the water supply of one of its springs earlier this month. They've stopped using that source.

The recall only affects the Northeast United States, for now.

But that doesn't mean we don't have our own issues with water here in Texas, like in Galveston. Officials are comparing taking a dip in the Gulf of Mexico to “swimming in a toilet."

In fact, the Galveston County Health District is telling beachgoers to avoid swimming in the water altogether because of rising bacteria levels in 17 locations. They say the extra bacteria often happens after heavy rain.

A Texas summer without Blue Bell ice cream or a swim at the beach? This is starting to turn into a summer to forget.
