SOUTH OAK CLIFF -- Anyone who’s been outside knows, it’s getting down-right hot in the DFDub. Yeah, mother nature sure is cranking up the summer sizzle.

So, can you even imagine what it must be like to endure the heat without A/C?  Well, Viviana Rivas will be the first to let you know: “We really can’t do nothing about it; we have to sit here and suffer.”

Vivana tells NewsFix the air condidtioning in her apartment has been out for a week. "I called [the complex] and I told them that the A/C wasn’t working. They were like, yeah, ‘We know it. We’re trying to fix it.’"

Vivana lives at the Mountain Valley Apartments in South Oak Cliff.  She says she keeps getting the run around from her apartment managers.

"What is going on? It’s been a week already. What’s happening? I’m here with my kids, I’m dying!”

We called the complex, but the office was closed. No one returned our call. Back inside Vivana’s apartment, the thermostat is set at 65-degrees, but the temp inside is a stiffling 90-degrees.

"We keep taking cold showers because that’s how hot it is.”

Making matters worse, Vivana’s celing fan is broken. Wow! Well, here’s hoping her A/C is fixed soon because we all know it’s just going to get hotter.

"I have a whole year contract, so I can’t leave," Viviana explained. "I have nowhere to go and I don’t have the money to just be moving around because they can’t fix the A/C when they should’ve done it already.”
