HOUSTON — A frustrated Houston dad is now looking at a possible life sentence after police say he beat his three-year-old son to death.

Anthony Powell, 24, has been charged with capital murder and his bond has been set at $250,000 after a potty training accident allegedly filled him with so much rage that he violently struck his son, who then whacked his head on the bathroom tile floor.

Court papers allege that this wasn’t the only incident, but after this one, the young boy started acting strangely and was later found wheezing. Fast forward to the hospital, prosecutors say the toddler had brain swelling among other injuries. He died not long after.

Now, Powell and his 23-year-old sister Prosha Land face charges. Police say Land didn’t do anything to stop the violence, and she may have contributed to it herself.
