CLEVELAND, OH – Most people are off this Memorial Day but for some people it`s back to work. So is the case for former MVP Josh Hamilton who made his season debut in Cleveland in time for the Rangers` 3-game series against the Indians.
Off the field the Rangers are hoping to get the Josh Hamilton of new but on the field they`re banking on the Hamilton of old. That`s the guy who hit .305, 152 homers and 506 RBIs during his previous 5-year stint with the club.
Hamilton`s timing couldn’t be better. The Rangers are coming off a series sweep and are streaking their way up the AL West standings on their way back to .500 baseball.
So bygones are bygones and once again Hamilton`s officially part of the Rangers family. Unless you count his Twitter account which looks like it`s overdue for a much needed profile update. The page still shows Hamilton sporting the Angels uniform, guess old habits die hard.
Perhaps the only angel Rangers fans want associated with Hamilton is the one on his shoulder telling him to straighten up and fly right because if he can do that, sports fans in DFW could be in for a very exciting summer.
