Social media has put a spotlight on how parents discipline their kids. Like the Baltimore mom who hit her son when she spotted him on TV throwing rocks at a cop.

But some are using social media to shame their kids into compliance. The latest example? A mom who finds out her 13-year-old daughter is posing as a 19-year-old on Facebook. The mom forced her daughter to tell the truth on camera.

When a dad found out his fifth grader was also lying about her age, he posted a pic of her wearing an “age defining” shirt to help her grow up.

But who can forget our all-time favorite shaming scenario? The dad who shot up his daughter`s laptop after she posted a rant filled with obscenities about doing chores.

This latest example of shaming has once again sparked debate about whether parents should publicly humiliate their kids. Like it or not, it doesn’t appear this parenting technique is going away anytime soon.
