PHILADELPHIA — An Amtrak passenger train derailed in Philadelphia Tuesday night killing at least seven people. Hundreds more are injured.

Law enforcement tells WPVI Train 188 was heading from Washington, DC to New York City when it crashed.

Word of the derailment quickly spread on social media, with posts on Twitter describing crews searching for wreckage and helicopters hovering overhead.
