NORTH TEXAS -- Okay, folks – show of hands: how many of you know that today is election day?

Hey, don't feel bad, chances are you're not alone; and we’re not judging.

Polls opened from 7AM-7PM on Saturday, and candidates are eagerly awaiting the results. Okay, so we’re not electing a president, but there are still some major races happening across North Texas.

Among them: the mayoral race in the City of Dallas. Current mayor, Mike Rawlings, is trying to keep his seat from his opponent, Marcos Ronquillo.

If you live out in Arlington, not only are you voting to elect a mayor, but your votes will also determine if the city will put the breaks on those red light cameras.

Yeah, it’s Prop One and it’s on the ballot. Remember, your vote is your voice.
