THE COLONY -- For folks in The Colony, surf's up!

“The top wakeboarders in the world will be here, trying to win this weekend's title,” said Chris Bischoff, Director of Operations for Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour.

Yeah, the first stop in North Texas for the Pro Wakeboard Tour is on Lake Lewisville. It's creating waves with all the buzz surrounding the competition and the talent hitting the lake.

“What the judges are really looking for is how big you go, how technical the tricks are, and if you are grabbing your board and making it look really good and smooth,” pro wakeboarder Bradley Teunissen said.

Parker Payne, 15, turned pro late last year and will be the hometown favorite this weekend. “So much competition, it's crazy,” he said.

“I guess it feels like I have the home court advantage; I`m on this lake almost all the time, every single day,” Payne said.

Payne,  who lives in Richardson, says if you're not coming out this weekend you'll be missing out.

“It's going to be interesting for sure because we have all the best wakeboarders and wake surfers across the United States and the world here to compete in this one contest,” Payne said.

So if this kind of thing floats your boat, maybe you should go check it out and catch a wave.
