WISE COUNTY, TX - It was Mother Nature versus the Lone Star State Thursday night with at least three confirmed tornadoes touching down across North Texas.

But it didn't stop with tornadoes. We were also hit with supersized hail.

And don't forget the massive flooding that forced Era ISD to shut down.

"These classrooms are not gonna be ready by Monday. But one way or the other, we'll probably be back in school to some degree on Monday, then these classes may have to wait til later in the week," said Jeremy Thompson, Era ISD Superintendent.

Folks in Sanger are singing the blues dealing with the aftermath of rising water.

"About 30 inches, I'd say, was in our house. All of our furniture was floating."

It got so bad that Greg Steuck and his family needed a raft to leave the house.

"Strapped life jackets on us, got all the cats and the dog and got in a rubber raft and went back out along the road here," he explained. "Lotta replacing, we got a lot of replacing to do here, so start all over again."

And what's a disaster party without fire? That's right, lightning strikes triggered a gas well explosion in Denton.

And in Richardson, lightning set the roof of a house on fire. The family made it out jus tin time.

To make matters worse, we're not in the clear yet, folks. Severe storms are predicted every day this weekend.
