PARKER, CO - A prom picture from Colorado has triggered controversy because the students are posing with a Confederate flag and holding guns.

It was posted to Facebook with the caption, "The South will rise again."

As you can imagine, folks who see the Confederate Flag as a symbol or racism are flipping out -- including a mom of one of the kids in the picture. She claims other parents are behind it all.

“I think in their immaturity they kind of think it is a cowboy thing, but to have parents feed into it and support it is really upsetting to me,” the mom, who didn't want to be identified, told Fox 31 Denver.

One of the girls in the image, who also didn't want her identity revealed, is apologizing.

“It’s hard to say sorry when that’s the only thing that can come out of my mouth right now,” she said. “I feel like there should be a better word for it.”
