KEMP, TX - A Plano West football star was flagged for a penalty off the field this weekend. On Saturday, five-star UCLA commit  Sotonye "Soso" Jamabo was booked at Kaufman County Jail for evading arrest.

The 19-year-old running back was also hit with citations for being a minor in possession of alcohol and a minor consuming alcohol. Cops say Soso was speeding and ran through a stop sign before being pulled over.

The passengers in the vehicle, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, were also cited for being minors in possession and consuming alcohol.

Soso posted a $7,500 bond Sunday afternoon.

The highly sought after recruit originally made news when announcing his decision to play with for the Bruins in a Twitter post that included the phrase, “Asian Girls Everywhere,” a shout out to rapper Childish Gambino.

No word if this incident will affect Soso's opportunity to don the blue & gold. UCLA's athletic director has only said that they're aware of Soso's arrest.

The arrest comes on the heels of former Coppell High running back and BYU recruit Charles West's run-in with the law just a couple of months ago. West has since been indicted by a grand jury for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is set to stand trial. BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall has said he won't comment on the situation until the legal process has run its course.

There’s also Arlington high recruit Raymond Sheard who will no longer be attending Boise State after school officials found an unloaded gun and drugs in his backpack.

In Soso's case, he's definitely hoping his football dreams haven't been derailed by this off-field mistake.
