DALLAS-Last time we saw Dallas District Attorney Susan Hawk was during a town hall style meeting after being newly elected.
"I believe that trust is critical to making you feel safe, making the community feel safe, and building confidence in our justice system," Hawk said.
But now, after three months on the job, it looks like Hawk has landed herself between a rock and a hard place.
Scrutiny took flight last week after Hawk fired her assistant DA, Bill Wirskye. That's when he claimed she had become erratic and unstable at work.
That's also when word got out that Hawk had been to rehab for prescription meds she was taking after a back injury.
Well, Hawk says this was just an attempt to attack her character and that she fired Wirskye because they were just not a good fit.
Geez, talk about a Hawk fight!
On Tuesday, Hawk was a guest speaker for SMU's law school. We wanted her to set things straight, but she didn't talk to us.
With so many questions circling over Hawk, it'll be interesting to see what happens next.
