WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Ted Cruz is drawing some criticism for his intention to enroll in Obamacare.

In a recent interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, the Texas senator admitted that when his wife begins her leave of absence from Goldman Sachs to help with his presidential campaign and his family will transition to new health insurance.

“And we’ll presumably do it through my job in the Senate. We’ll be on the federal exchange like millions of others on the federal exchange,” he said.

Under healthcare guidelines, lawmakers and members of their staff can get a subsidized health coverage through Obamacare. Cruz’s handlers said after that interview that he will not accept that financial incentive.
