FIFE, WA –  “I don’t always violate the HOV lane law . . . but when I do, I get a $124 ticket.”

Ha! That’s the tweet from a Washington State public information officer after troopers caught a driver in the HOV lane with a cardboard cutout of actor Jonathan Goldsmith, from the popular Dos Equis beer commercials.

When asked who was sitting next to him, the driver told the trooper, “He’s my best friend.”

Even the trooper was amused, calling it one of the best HOV lane scams he had ever seen. He even let the guy keep “The Most Interesting Man in the World” cutout. He just warned him not to give his “best friend” a lift again.
