DALLAS, TX --  The crowds out enjoying the beautiful weather at the Dallas Zoo had no idea what was happening behind the scenes.

No idea how close they were to some of the scariest creatures who ever walked the earth. That's right - early Monday morning, there was a Jurassic invasion.

"It's a great day at the Dallas Zoo," VP of Guest Experience Sean Greene said.  "We are starting to put in 20 of these beautiful animatronic dinosaurs; we have all types of different ones, very familiar ones, some not so familiar."

The good news gets even better; guests won't need to worry about the prehistoric predators getting loose, since they can't walk.

"There will be no danger at all from these guys," Greene said. "What you see right now with this is gonna be moving back and forth, it's gonna be going up and down, there's gonna be sounds coming out."

The exhibit opens April 1 and runs through Labor Day. It includes a dino walk, a theatrical presentation, and a dino-themed bird show.

"It's gonna be dino-all-the-time here for the next six months."
