NORTH TEXAS-Money, moo-lah, cha-ching, whatever you call it, looks like North Texans are spending it as fast as they're giving it away.

Did we mention it's a lot of moo-lah?

According to the Chronical of Philanthropy, the DFW area ranks eighth on a national list of 50 largest cities.

On the list? The cities of McKinney and Plano where a whopping $761.9 million was donated in 2014.

So what organizations are reaping the benefits from these big spenders?

Religious, educational, and political institutions round out the top organizations.

But the rich are also looking at keeping their money closer to home; investing millions in a not so humble abode. According to CNN Money, Dallas lands at number eight for cities where the super rich are buying up luxury homes!

Hey, Dallas! You so fancy.

It’s good to know there isn't a big price tag on giving back and in the Big D, big money equals big hearts.
