When’s the last time you had an “X” on your hand? Probably years ago when you went clubbin’ but weren’t quite old enough to drink. Well, now there’s a different meaning to the mark.

You may have seen a bunch of hands marked with red X’s on social media, alongside the hashtag: END IT MOVEMENT. Well, February 27 is “Shine a Light on Slavery Day.” A day that ENDITmovement.com wants to bring awareness to the masses, that slavery is still alive and well.

According to the END IT coalition, 27 million people around the world – including over 60,000 in the United States – are trapped in slavery which broken down into three forms: Bonded labor, forced labor and human trafficking.

Now posting a pic of your hand is just the start. END IT wants folks to band together to create groups and become freedom fighters against slavery.

Donations made from the groups will go to Coalition Partners who will help stop slavery by awareness, prevention, rescue and restoration.

Here’s hoping "X" marks the spot of change.
