RAYMONDVILLE — A couple of thousand people who came into the United States illegally looking for a new home are getting new homes, only their new digs will be in different prisons. A riot at the Willacy County Correction Center in Raymondville over the weekend left the South Texas federal “Tent City” prison unusable. Now about 2,900 inmates are heading to different prisons this week. The Raymondville compound consists of 10 huge tents, which is why the locals call the place “Tent City.”
