Southwest Airlines passenger planes areDALLAS — If you’re planning to fly to Jamaica or Paris for Spring Break, your frequent flier points might not be enough to get you to that dream destination. Southwest Airlines is the latest carrier to test your loyalty to its loyalty program aka Rapid Rewards.

According to their site, starting April 17, the number of points you’ll need to redeem for certain flights (that’s code for the places everybody wants to go) will now be based on  destination, day of travel, demand, fare class and “other factors.”

Sounds like cashing in on those Rapid Rewards might not be as rapid as it used to be.

But Southwest’s showing major love in Atlanta. Check this out. If you fly out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, you can snag a buy three and your best buddy flies FREE for the rest of the year deal.

Well, according to Southwest’s promo rules, you have to live in Atlanta and you have to take those three round trips out of Hartsfield-Jackson before May 17th in order to get the sweet deal!

Looks like Dallas-based Southwest is trying to steal the hearts of all those loyal Delta customers in Atlanta.

Hey! We’d love to know when Texans will get that same kind of treatment! C’mon, where’s the love?
