WASHINGTON, D.C. – There’s a saying here in the Lone Star State: “Don’t mess with Texas.” We don’t take too kindly to people trashing up our state, and that most certainly includes trash talk from (of all places) Florida! Florida Democratic congressman Alcee Hastings stirred a hornets nest during a committee hearing about Obamacare Monday, telling Texas Republican Michael Burgess, “I don’t know about your state, which is a crazy state to begin with.” Burgess didn’t appreciate the comment, but things only got weirder after that. Hastings told Burgess he could leave if he didn’t like the comment, adding, “I wouldn’t live there for all the tea in China.”
