DALLAS, TX -- Why are there no parking spots in a parking garage? Ever ask yourself that question? The frustrating problem of where do I park, might soon end.

Well, guess what Dallas? There's an app for that!

The City of Dallas has joined forces with ParkMe, an app that will help Dallasites locate, secure and pay for parking.

The best part? This free app is pretty simple to navigate, just view a list of parking locations based on price and distance.

Here's how it works: parking prices vary by color; the green dots mean cheapest fares while red dots mean its gonna cost you more to put it in park.

The ParkMe app even allows you to reserve and pay for a parking spot at certain lots and garages, those are marked in blue!

NewsFix hit the streets of downtown Dallas to see if drivers would get revved up on the pay and park app.

"That app would very much help out because you know it'll tell you exactly where a parking spot at near you’re eating spot," driver Jason Freeman said.

"It be great to have an app to show you where the parking spots are, it be really great if it works really great," Jeoffrey Burkes added.

So, with everything from finding metered parking to pay by phone options in the palm of your hand, it looks like finding a place to park is getting easier for Dallas drivers.

Just remember, this app can only help you find a spot, not maneuver your way into it.
