IRVING, TX -- Things didn't quite "work out" as usual on Tuesday morning at the 24 Hour Fitness on 183 in Irving. It all started with 911 calls of a creepy dude hanging out. A few minutes later, all hell broke loose.

911 Caller: "There's an African-American male. He's kinda looking at people crazy."

911 Caller: "There was a man that just assaulted a woman. We have a few men who are holding him down."

NewsFix also obtained surveillance video from inside the gym showing the moments when a 49-year-old woman was stabbed on the treadmill. You can see other members rush to help the woman and pin down the perp.

Cops say the suspect is 32-year-old Phillip Roberts. He's being held at the Dallas County Jail charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond is set at $200,000.

There's still no word on a motive for this bizarre crime.

This is just a reminder -- if you think something isn't right, say something.
