DALLAS -- John Wiley Price was missing in action for a hearing in federal court Tuesday morning. It was his lawyer's chance to ask the judge for taxpayer money to pay for his defense.
So, where was the controversial Dallas County Commissioner? We found him at -- commissioners court.
"My attorney said that I didn't have to be there, so I waved my appearance. This is what I was elected to do, so I came here," Price said.
"I didn't know he was supposed to be here," his attorney said.
Well, the judge made that clear and she also decided there will be one trial for Price and the other people charged in the case.
By the way, Price will get to plead his case next week about needing a public defender. Perhaps, we got a preview.
"I mean, maybe you have a couple million dollars for a defense. I don't have it," Price said.
