DALLAS, TX - This is the time of year when many Texans are more than happy to be residents of the Lone Star state. Hey, who wouldn`t trade a potential Snowpocalypse for sunny and 70 right?

But even though we don`t have to worry about getting buried in snow, that doesn`t stop people at the airport from getting buried in delays. That`s because a potentially historic winter storm is set to unload more than two feet of snow on the Northeast -- a snowfall big enough to turn the Statue of Liberty into an ice queen.

It`s a situation that`s likely to have many travelers frustrated, leaving anyone looking to get to the northeast out in the cold. Maybe they can pass the time looking up one of the many jokes about the storm on social media.

At least one account replaced the Lady of Liberty`s torch with a shovel.

And it wouldn`t be a winter storm party without Game of Thrones would it?

So winter is coming for the Northeast but travelers stranded here at DFW are crossing their fingers in hopes that winter this storm has a happy ending.
