When bad things happen, we open up the gates!

Think about it: We add the word ‘gate’ to the scandal of the moment and it immediately has an easy place in our minds.

Today: The Patriots getting a little ballsy = Deflategate.

A few years ago: He tweets raunchy pictures = Wienergate.

And before that, Bill Clinton had a lot of gates = Monicagate, Pardongate, Troopergate.

There are so many gates involving so many people, you can check it out on this page.

But I’m not sure many people know the original gate; looks like a lot of people don’t have any idea about U.S. history. There are a bunch of old stories out there with headlines like we’re seeing today. We’re flunking, and it’s not pretty.

Ya gotta wonder how many people really are aware of the biggest political scandals ever, and how they relate to today’s gates. You get the feeling there’s a real disconnect going on with lessons from the past?

Maybe that’s why race relations are what they are.

Maybe that’s why we just ended over a decade in Afghanistan.

You know that phrase, ‘Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it?’ Well, it looks like there’s some repeating!

And when it comes to history and this kind of stuff, it feels like we all should navigate our way to what’s really going on.
