NORTH TEXAS -- When it rains, it pours and boy did it come down in North Texas.
Most of the Metroplex only had to deal with slick roads from rain and maybe even a hint of wintry mix. Yeah, there were sightings of snow flurries in and around Plano, but it was nothing like what came down in Amarillo.
But that doesn't mean things didn't get ugly here.
In addition to some pretty thick rush hour traffic, an overturned 18-wheeler on I-35 West and 121 just added to the brake-tapping backup. Fort Worth cops say the driver crashed into a guard rail after falling asleep at the wheel. Pretty sure the slick conditions didn't help.
But here's the kicker, the truck was hauling 38,000 pounds of brussel sprouts. How's that for frozen veggies?
Hey, all kidding aside folks, remember, the wet roads and wintry mix woes will stick around throughout Thursday night. So, be safe out there!
