FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Ahhhh yes, cruising. One of the best ways to take a break and get away from it all. Well, for one woman, it’s like a permanent vacay. Meet Lee Wachtstetter. She’s an 86-year-old who lives on a luxury cruise ship. Yeah, you heard right. This lady has been cruising on the Crystal Serenity for almost seven years.

So why does one sell a five bedroom home in Fort Lauderdale and pay $164,000 a year to be at sea? Love. During their 50-year marriage, Wachtstetter and her late husband traveled on 89 cruises together. His dying words to her: “Don’t stop cruising.”

And she took that to heart. She’s traveled on almost 200 cruises, and to over 100 countries. Sounds like she’s living the life, right?

Now Wachtstetter does get to see her family when the ship makes stops in Miami. Meanwhile, because the Crystal Serenity has first class entertainment, she goes dancing every night. Another perk? She never has to worry about missing the boat.

One thing’s for sure, her husband is smiling down, happy to ‘sea’ her life is smooth sailing on the love boat.
