NORTH TEXAS – Ever heard the saying -- “the freaks come out at night?”

Well, as of late, when it gets late, nothing good has been going on after midnight in the Metroplex.

Late Tuesday night in Mesquite, a man was found dead on Sam Houston Road. Mesquite cops say 39-year-old Charlie Robinson Jr. was the victim of a hit and run. What makes it worse?

Other cars hit Robinson after that, and none of them even stopped.

Just awful.

And early Wednesday morning, it was a robbery turned kidnapping that kept Arlington PD busy in the wee hours. A woman claims a man came up to her at an ATM and forced her to take cash out of her account.

Police say the man seen on surveillance cameras then forced the women into her own trunk and took her on a ride to other banks to get more dough.

Lucky for her, the woman was able to escape from her trunk when the man stopped the car and ran into a QuikTrip in Euless to call for help. Cops are still looking for the guy.

So, are folks bold enough to pull crimes like these off in the daytime? Hmmmm, not likely.

Here’s hoping the night fright in the Metroplex comes to an end, and soon.
