PLANO, TX-Hollywood took aim at a decorated hero and delivered a blockbuster.

The red carpet was rolled out Wednesday night for a benefit screening of American Sniper at Cinemark's West Plano theatre.

And the starring attraction was American heartthrob Bradley Cooper.

Okay ladies, keep the hooting and hollering' to a minimum!

Cooper is cast as U.S. Navy Seal Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in American history.

The Iraq war vet survived several gunshot wounds and IED attacks on the battlefield.

Kyle completed four tours in Iraq, only to be shot and killed by a fellow veteran he was trying to help 70 miles south of Fort Worth.

As the two year anniversary of Kyle's death approaches, Cooper and the cast hope this film will help vets dealing with PTSD as they transition into civilian life.

One of them is wounded vet Jack Schick who also plays a wounded vet in the movie.

Proceeds from this red carpet screening benefit the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, supporting military members, first responders, new vets and their families.
