VALLEY RANCH, TX - When a stadium gets the nickname of 'The Frozen Tundra', you know that cold weather just might be a factor when the Cowboys play at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
Hey, it takes work to play in this mess. Just ask the folks who showed up to shovel snow out of Lambeau after this week’s snowfall in Green Bay.
Hey, ten bucks an hour isn’t bad for basically shoveling Vince Lombardi’s front yard!
The Cowboys will definitely make plans when it comes to temperature and field condition.
“We anticipate wearing 7 stud cleats, and really making sure to address that from an equipment standpoint, guys getting over to the stadium earlier, making sure they check out the field.” said head coach Jason Garrett
But don`t expect these players to be running scared from a little chill. Dez Bryant will be going sleeveless on saying, simply saying that the “cold don’t matter” to him!
DeMarco Murray had a similar, if more strategic approach to Sunday’s situation.
“I don`t think it`s a huge deal, unless you let it get to you, you`ve just got to prepare and make sure you`re mentally strong enough to handle the conditions” said the league’s leading rusher “Obviously careful with the ball, gotta hold it a little more cautiously, things like that, but you can`t worry too much about the weather.”
And hey, the Cowboys may have caught a break. Temps are only expected to be in the low 20`s come game time! It was colder at the practice field in Valley Ranch this week!
It`s also 30 degrees warmer than it was the last time these two teams met in Green Bay for the playoffs.
So yeah, the 'Ice Bowl 2' may just be remembered for being the 'Chilly Bowl’, and, more importantly, for what actually happens on the field.
