ARLINGTON, Texas — An Arlington Open Carry activist is charged with shooting and killing her husband and stepdaughter, then checking herself into a mental hospital.

According to a newly released search warrant, Veronica Dunnachie shot her husband Russ and his adult daughter Kimberly Wednesday afternoon inside their home in the 2500 block of Edinburgh.

She then called a friend who convinced her to drive to Millwood Mental Health Facility on North Cooper Street. That’s where police took her into custody.

Dunnachie’s Facebook page is loaded with photos of her armed at Open Carry events.

There’s even a chilling quote that reads:

“Sometimes removing some people out of your life makes room for better people.”

Search for another possible suspect Wednesday sent nearby Bryant Elementary School into a brief lockdown, but police say they know Dunnachie worked alone.

What they don’t know is what may have set off her.
