NORTH TEXAS-The creators of Lifetime's biopic of deceased singer Aaliyah, Really rocked the boat after it aired Sunday night.
Aaliyah: the Princess of R&B is centered on the life and death of baby girl.
Executive producer Wendy Williams first came under fire after Aaliyah’s family publically spoke out against the filming of the made for TV movie, eventually withholding the rights to use her original music in the biopic.
But others also disapproved, case in point: Timberland! The producer who worked with Aaliyah on songs like “Are you that Somebody" and "Try Again." Timbo took to Twitter and Instagram to bash the biopic.
Seems like Lifetime hasn't had the best track record when it comes to biopics. This summer Whitney Houston’s mom, Cissy Houston spoke out, asking the network to let her daughter rest in peace.
Lifetime will continue with the movie.
Looks like a rough break for Lifetime, just remember you can always dust it off and try again.
