DALLAS, TX -- The day is finally here, after two weeks and 10,000 votes the Dallas Zoo's 6 feet tall baby giraffe officially has a name.

Kopano! Yep, that means “United” in Botswana.

Hey, that’s quite fitting for a giraffe born with lots of love, tons of fans, and money surrounding him.

As for the person who wrote the check for the $50,000 naming rights, well, he or she still wants to remain anonymous.

“We`re very fortunate to have a donor who really believes in what we`re doing here at the Dallas Zoo,” announced Dallas Zoo’s staff member, Lynn Kramer.

“…we`re going to use these funds to support conservation projects in Africa.”

Yeah, that kind of money will go a long way there.

So thanks to all you folks at home baby  Kopano is not name-less anymore and can now begin snappin’ photo ops with his fans.
