CHAPEL HILL, NC-Scandal is hitting the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill campus and these students aren't making the grade.
Investigator Kenneth Weinstein released reports that accuse former chair of the African American studies department and his assistant of allowing more 3,000 students; about half of them athletes, to enroll in classes they didn't have to show up for in order to help students on and off the field.
The university has now fired or disciplined nine employees after learning the details of the investigation of academic fraud taking place over the past 20 years.
They're calling this one "shadow curriculum" but it sounds like a fancy name for liars to us!
What ever happened to the days when teachers didn't help you cheat?
UNC Chapel Hill has a deep rooted partnership with the NCAA, no word yet if they'll take any action against those who chose to skip out on school.
One thing is for sure, 20 years of cheating equals a lot of detention.
