ARLINGTON, TX -- Hey Rangers fans, we know it was hard to keep the faith last season. With an endless roster of injured players and the sudden resignation of manager Ron Washington, no one would blame you if you admitted going to the games for the giant hot dogs.

Enough about the past, the future is bright! There's a new man stepping up to the plate to manage the Rangers. His name is Jeff Banister.

So, who is this guy? Well, he's a man who knows something about loyalty -- spending 29 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, the last five as their bench manager.

But, he's originally from Texas, y'all! Told you he's loyal.

Hey, and this guy knows a thing or two about pulling through when the going gets rough. Banister recovered from bone cancer and temporary paralysis while he played college ball.

This guy could be the home run the Rangers need to reclaim the glory days.

Maybe a new set of eyes will help the team slide back into the playoff contention.
