jjAnother hack attack alert. This time, sandwich chain Jimmy John’s confirms hackers stole customer debit and credit card information from 216 stores, including several right here in the DFW area.

Jimmy John’s says the cyber crooks stole login credentials from its credit card readers between June 15 and September 5 of this year. It learned about the breach July 30, but is just now releasing information to the public.

In a statement on its website, Jimmy John’s also said it has taken steps to tighten security by installing machines that encrypt credit card data and is “reviewing its policies and procedures for its third party vendors.”

While the statement suggested another company may have been the cause of the breach, it did not disclose the company’s name.
