DALLAS - Admit it, you woke up smiling Monday morning. Getting out of bed was easier. The water at the cooler somehow tasted better, because maybe, just maybe, the Cowboys won’t stink this year.

Yeah, fans got to bask in the glow of a Cowboys win for the first time since last December 22nd!

Even Jason Garrett was happy. Well, as happy as he ever gets.

“The thing that I think was a really good thing for our team was the physicalness of our team,” said the head coach. “But there’s never any element of satisfaction. We have a long, long way to go obviously and we’ll take an unemotional look at it tomorrow and see if we can get this team better.”

It was a smash mouth, physical win, with the ground game rumbling for 220 yards!

But the real surprise was the much-maligned defense, holding Tennessee to 10 points and snagging two interceptions! So much for being the worst ever!

“I thought we did a good job defending them throughout the game, particularly on third downs, and I think the physicalness showed up their,” Garrett said of his defense.

The win was the icing on the cake for a great sports weekend in the Metroplex!

TCU won 30 to 7 to move to 2-0, FC Dallas won 2-1 to stay right in the MLS playoff race, the Stars unveiled their crazy new mascot, and even the Rangers were rolling.

Yeah, they got their first series sweep since April and basically ended the Atlanta Braves playoff chances!

So, it was a great Monday morning in DFW. Let’s hope it’s not another nine months before the next one.
