This is David Williams; he might look like your average 13-year-old. But this kid is far from ordinary.

Instead of school, he spends his days studying at the Dallas Public Library with his mom homeschooling him. But what makes David really stand out is his regular appearances at Dallas City Council meetings.

He may barely be able to see over the podium, but he's raising questions about education and poverty.

Hey, he's already made it to the junior city council.

"Councilman Caraway wanted me to take on the junior city council and just little things like that and I was helping them plan events and made sure they ran smoothly,” said David.

But recently, a comment made by mayor pro tem Tennel Atkins about his signature western look upset David.

"He made a comment that I wasn't dressed business causal and that I should dress more like my vice-president and I took that into a little offense,” he said.

That led to a shopping trip. "He just bought me a suit and a belt and some nice dress shoes, I'm very grateful that he did that and that he's a man of his word," said David

But after he takes care of business, David lets loose with his brother in a one- on -one game of basketball.

"I like to play chess. I still hang out with my friends, I just now have to separate business from child's play,” he said.

So what are his future plans? "My main goal is to run through every form of government possible, I want to start from city council and work my way up to president."

Pretty impressive, kid!
