If you’re hitting the open road this Labor Day weekend, prepare yourself for a surprise at the pump! Road trippers are in for a real treat, with gas prices dipping down to an average of $3.41 a gallon around the U.S.; that’s 18 cents lower than last year!

In our own backyard, prices are as low as $3.12 and that’s got drivers pumped! Why the sudden drop? Well, U.S. energy experts say it’s because oil production in Iraq is high despite the crisis in Syria. Want more good news? Gas prices are expected to continue on a downward trend.

No matter how you choose to celebrate this Labor Day weekend, fuel up, relax and drive safely!
