AUSTIN–Rick Perry’s lawyer’s went to court Monday to try to get the criminal charges against him dropped.

They called the charges ” unprecedented, insupportable, and simply impermissible.”

It’s a lot of big words to remember, and that seems to be a problem for the governor these days.

“I’ve been indicted by that same body now for, I think, two counts: One of bribery, which I’m not a lawyer so I don’t really understand the details here,” Perry said on Friday during an event in New Hampshire.

Sorry, Governor. The actual charges are abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant.

It’s the new “oops” moment.

But Rick, as a consolation prize, you can get a lovely t-shirt with your mug on the front, and that of the Travis County D.A. on the back. Perry’s political action committee is selling the tees on its website for 25 bucks.

The guv even tweeted out an ad for the t-shirts.
Is it smart to call attention to the criminal charges against you?

Okay. Maybe it’s smart to deal with it head on. But Mr. Governor, at least remember what you’re accused of. Maybe write it down.
