ARLINGTON – Have no fear, the Red Cross is here. Although, fear is usually involved when The Red Cross gets called in.

That’s why Arlington is taking precautions by opening a new Red Cross Disaster Field Supply Center.

“The mission of these operations is to be able to provide life-saving resources to people impacted by disaster as quickly as possible,” said T.D. Smyers, CEO of the American Red Cross North Texas Region.

By the looks of the warehouse, it’s not the smallest of spaces. At 174,000 square feet, it’s actually the biggest disaster supply center in the country.

So what do you store in a place with this much space?

“Cots, blankets, comfort kits, hygiene kits, its clean up supplies,” Smyers said.

So there you have it. We’re not asking for trying times, but if disaster strikes – we’re ready for it!
