Deadly Fireball: Three People Killed in Small Plane Crash

EASTLAND CO. — Three people are dead after the plane they were in suddenly crashed in Eastland County. According to FAA spokesman, Lynn Lunsford, the crash happened  around midnight, about three-miles northwest of Ranger.

The single engine Lancair aircraft crashed in a wooded area.  It fell from the sky shortly after take-off from a private airstrip at the Cook Canyon Ranch Airport.

The airport is not far from the crash site. The plane burst into flames upon impact. The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.

It isn’t clear where the plane was headed.
