DALLAS — Another head-on collision could be looming between Dallas cabbies and transportation apps like Uber and Lyft.

The ongoing fight is driven by established taxi companies who believe the new kids on the block have an unfair advantage.

The main argument is that these new transportation services are not regulated the same way cab companies are.

To settle the feud, they’re relying on Dallas City Hall. Wednesday, council members addressed the issue and discussed what options are available to create an equal playing field. Possible solutions might involve new standards for fares and fleet size.

But, reaching an agreement for all those involved is not going to be easy.

Who would have thought getting a lift could be so complicated.
