DALLAS – A teen is charged with murdering 21-year-old Barry Johnson, Jr. outside a Pleasant Grove convenience store.

It happened last Wednesday night at the Circle M Food Mart on Scyene Road.

Police say 18-year-old David Dewayne Wright ambushed Johnson outside the store, shooting him several times in the back.

Johnson was pronounced dead at Baylor Medical Center — exactly one week before his 22nd birthday.

Dallas PD got lucky. They say fingerprints and surveillance video led them to Wright. He was arrested Thursday and has been booked at  Lew Sterret Jail. Bail is set at $500,000.

No motive is known yet. Was Barry Johnson targeted… or just at the wrong place at the wrong time?
