HOUSTON – A Houston area woman says she has no regrets after getting shot for refusing to give her phone to a mugger.

“I was like, well, I’m not fixing to give you my phone and he’s like, I’m gonna shoot you.”

Courtney, who refused to give her last name, says she was begged for her life. When she still hand it over, the gunman made good on his threat.

“It was like pop. It was like a pop!”

A single bullet grazed Courtney’s head. She escaped to a friend’s apartment, with the gunman hot on her trail. Luckily, she won the race. They bolted the door and called 911.

Despite being shot, Courtney says she didn’t do the exact same thing again. But she has a message for her attacker.

“Why you had to shoot me? You know you could have punched me in my face, you could have done anything, you tried to kill me cause you shot me in my head. I almost lost life my life behind a $700 phone. I don’t get it.”
