Balch Springs — Looks like 40-year-old Taneka Birdwell may have changed the lives of seven people Sunday night, including her own.

Balch Springs Police say Birdwell was intoxicated when she got behind the wheel of her Hyundai. When she changed lanes, cops say she caused a Chevrolet pickup, carrying six people, to lose control and flip upside down.

Three adults and three children, including a toddler and two infants, were taken to the hospital. The most critically injured was 30-year-old Juliana Reynosa . She was taken by air ambulance to Parkland where she later died.

Cops say Birdwell flunked a field sobriety test and was arrested for intoxication manslaughter.
