How to Fall in Love With Neopolitan Pizza

“MMM…Pizza,“ are the words staff at Cane Rosso probably hear daily, and with good reason. Folks just love the Neopolitan wood-fired Italian pies coming from this Deep Ellum pizza joint.

Owner-creator, Jay Jerrier, was inspired after a trip to Italy for his honeymoon in 1995. While in Italy, he was blown away by his first taste of Neopolitan Pizza.

And it was this amore of Neopolitan pizza, that led Jay to trade his corporate job and khaki pants, for an apron and wood burning pizza oven built in his back yard. After honing his craft in the catering biz, he took a leap of faith and opened up Cane Rosso.

In case your wondering, Cane Rosso is a tribute to his first pet. It’s Italian for red dog.

The pizza shop has gotten some national attention from shows like Diners, Drive in`s and Dives, and more recently, made even more headlines when a picture of their expensive Ranch Dressing went viral.
