SPRING, Texas– Disguised and on a deadly mission.
It’s an all-too-familiar scenario. A quiet neighborhood where ‘nothing ever happens’, until Wednesday night.
That’s when Harris County Deputies say 33-year old Ron Lee Haskell put on a disguise and went on a deadly mission.
Wearing a FedEx shirt, Haskell headed to his family members’ home in Spring, where he carried out the unthinkable. Haskell, charged with six-counts of captial murder, allegedly shot seven family members’ of his ex-wife, killing six.
His targets? The beautiful Stay family. 39-Year old Stephen Robert Stay, 34-year old Katy Stay, along with four children. Two boys, ages 4 and 13 and two girls, ages 9 and 7. All were shot execution-style inside the northwest Houston home.
A 15-year old girl played dead and somehow, managed to call 911 after Haskell left the house.
She identifyed the shooter as her ex-uncle, and told police Haskell was on his way to kill her grandparents.
After a lengthy chase and a standoff that lasted for hours Haskell finally surrendered, and is currently undergoing a mental evaluation.
If Haskell was actually capable of slaughtering an entire family, however, we don’t need an evaluation to know he’s deeply disturbed.
