CROWLEY – It’s been a week since the standing room only funeral of Octavia Watkins.

She’s the 12-year old from Crowley who died after falling off a moving car.

Now her mom, Yasmin Lewis, has been arrested. She’s charged with reckless injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

Even though she wasn’t behind the wheel, Octavia’s mother is accused of knowing that Kisha Young, the mom who was driving, was under the influence.

Both apparently decided it was okay to tell six kids they had to ride on top of the car because their bathing suits were wet.

After all, home was just a mile away.

Young has already been charged with intoxication assault to a child and driving while intoxicated.

Now the case has been turned over to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.

Seems like a huge price to pay to avoid a few wet bathing suits.
