Dallas – We have some good news to report, sort of. One of the two dozen inmates, allowed to walk out of the Dallas County Jail, is back off the streets. Hopefully, authorities at the lock-up can keep him there this time.

23-year old Lavatray Polk is allegedly one, bad dude. According to police, Polk used a machete to rob a man in the downtown area just days after he got lucky with a ‘get out of jail free’ card. While you can cross Polk’s name off the wanted list, a gang of troublemakers are still out and about.

In the meantime, DPD says they are working to fix the software glitch, which has been blamed for the inmate release problem.

“We just have to get used to the new system and get through the growing pains and get through the learning curve, ” said Assistant Deputy Chief Christina Smith.

Hey, we truly hope this ‘learning curve’ doesn’t take too long to figure out.
